For me, wine embodies mystery, a constant challenge, and an influential force. As an educator, I am perpetually engaged in learning, questioning, and pushing my own boundaries. This journey involves cultivating faith in my decisions and self, enhanced by my collaboration with Toby, whom I view as a mentor, adding a new dimension to our relationship. Wine serves as a conduit for various experiences, facilitating conversations and lightening the mood. Our aspiration is for our wines not to dominate the dinner table but rather to bring people together. Inspired by the French tradition of lingering discussions during meals, we appreciate how wine fosters mutual understanding even amid disagreements.

Opting for an organic approach is a source of joy for us. Embracing the outdoors and working
the land together provides a respite from life's complexities. Personally, taking a break from the classroom a few days a week feels liberating. Working with Toby was always in the cards; my journey started pruning with him eight years ago, and now, as a partner, I spend three to four days a week in the vines, while Toby handles the cellar work.
Our commitment to transparency and accessibility is unwavering. Anyone interested in
understanding our process is welcome to visit and witness our work firsthand. Toby's agricultural background and our shared decision to venture into wine made working as a husband-wife teama natural progression. This dynamic works well due to mutual respect, my American drive, and Toby's pragmatic British side.
Despite hiring only seasonal staff, we uphold non-discrimination principles, expecting honesty
and a fair day's work in return. We prioritize flexibility in accommodating our team's hours and
beliefs, viewing it as a personal responsibility for everyone to contribute to this goal. Taking on
an apprentice this year reflects our belief in the crucial role of knowledge transmission for the
long-term success of the wine industry.
Each year, we contribute to a charity or cause close to our hearts, not seeking recognition but
adhering to the philosophy that, "if you are more fortunate than others, build a longer table, not a taller fence."
