Nadia is originally from San Francisco and has been working in the wine industry for two decades across 3 countries. She holds a B.A. in Language Studies from U.C. Santa Cruz and has also completed studies at the University of Oenology in Bordeaux. Her passion for foreign languages, cultures, teaching, and wine led her to work in various aspects of the wine trade in France and Russia before returning to California. She has been providing small production, organically and biodynamically farmed wine to local restaurants, bars and retailers throughout California for over a decade and since 2017, through her own company. Her connections to local, independently owned businesses run deep. She worked her way up to Managing Partner in her previous company Joli Vin Imports, where she helped establish many of the growers with whom she currently works. Nadia founded Floraison Selections independently in 2017.

A dancer, Nadia moves in many worlds. As a woman from a working-class background who founded her company through sheer grit, determination and bootstrapping, she understands intersectionality, appreciates the necessity of breaking down barriers and is constantly learning how to better serve her community. When not running her company, or hawking bottles, you may find her letting loose at a late night juerga (Flamenco jam session) or out and about in nature, hiking, cycling, or foraging local seaweed and mushrooms, and preparing her finds in her ridiculously small kitchen for a wonderfully large group of friends (pre-COVID.)

Social Justice and Environmental Restoration Statement
Floraison Selections is a woman owned and run company that is committed to working with growers who are stewards to their land and to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment for its independent contractor workers. I select growers who capture the clear expression of their land and their raw material by farming in a way that respects the environment and people who work the land. Three of my four independent contractor sales reps are women, one of which is a trans sommelier who is one of the first to work her way to her MS. On a personal level, I am involved in various community art and sport organizations to which I volunteer regularly including helping out an elder community member on a bi-weekly basis.
