Kathleen McKeveny: Miscreant Wine

I came to wine by drinking it and left my role as a teacher to become its student.

A miscreant is someone that doesn’t follow the rules and in this spirit, we aim to make wines that are rebellious and reverent in equal measure. Our wines are naturally unruly: spontaneous fermentations, unfined and unfiltered, zero SO2, and handmade from pick to bottle.

With the support of The Richmond Wine Collective and my partner Jasmine Shevick, we pursue this project in community with others which is central to our perspective and our practice.

We work with farmers utilizing organic and sustainable methods and are interested in supporting vineyards newly transitioned to organics and beyond.

Social Justice and Restoration Statement

Miscreant Wines is queer, woman-owned and operated, and is inextricable from collective efforts to cultivate a more equitable, and diverse community and industry. Our sights are set on a regenerative farming project, and contributing to a radically inclusive future of wine.
