After learning to make wine from Gideon and Saron at Clos Saron, Tahnee Shields is in search of Terrwheré. She currently makes wine in Richmond, 8 minutes from her home, and works with grapes from Ponderosa Vineyard in Nevada City. Her wines are full of life, and range in style from classically gorgeous to wildly experimental. She’s heading into her 6th harvest in 2024.

Social Justice / Environmental Restoration Statement

Oest Wines was founded on the understanding that wine, like food, is an agricultural product. When we collectively remember where our wine and food comes from, it causes us to ask how and where it was grown, under what conditions was the fruit harvested, and by whom? We partner with farmers who we are in conversation with about how land and water is used, managed, and cared for in the production of the fruit; we make sure people who enjoy our wine know that without life- giving practices to the soil, vines, the people that help grow the fruit and fruit itself, the very alive wines we make wouldn't be possible.
