In Colombian culture, we honor our Matriarchs- often the unsung heroes of history, society, and family. My grandmothers Rubelia and Blanca were the backbone of my family. The strength, grace, and enormous heart of these two women helped shape me into the person I am today. Ruby Blanca Wines is my ode to them.

I've worked in wine and hospitality over 15 years including as a certified Sommelier and managing wine programs. During that time I also began my winemaking career the way many young winemakers do, working multiple harvests under different winemakers and absorbing as much as I could.

In 2021, I joined the flagship Two Eighty Project apprenticeship program in partnership with Steve Matthiason and UC Davis. This six month, hands-on vineyard program is open to all, but focuses on providing resources, experience, and opportunities to marginalized communities which are often excluded from the wine industry. It was here that I got the opportunity to work with Les Lunes Wines, and I began working in their vineyards and winery year round.

During this time, Ruby Blanca Wines pressed its first vintage. Looking back from where I am now, I can see that my path was always leading me here.

I practice a holistic approach to winemaking. For me, it’s not enough to just buy grapes and make wines, but essential to also work in the vineyards and understand how to tend the land, learn the wisdom of historical winemaking families and vignerons, and use this knowledge to continue to innovate and develop a sustainable and balanced future for our vineyards and society.

I believe in making wines that are playful, spirited, and speak to the place where they are grown. Wines should be accessible to everyone and spark joy with tasty flavors and fun winemaking techniques. I make natural, low intervention wine made from organically farmed vineyards. Ruby Blanca Wines are full of heart, character, and a sense of purpose, just like their namesakes. I am honored to be able to share them with you.
Social Justice and Environmental Restoration Statement

1. I am committed to buying fruit from vineyards that are farmed organically, regeneratively, and sustainably. Growers that are looking towards the future of Hybrid Varieties in California.

2. I have trusted relationships with my growers and ensure that the picking crews are paid fair wages and are picking in safe environments.

3. Currently, I am a one woman show. As RBW grows, I hope to employ and build the economy for other BIPOC and LGBTQ+ bodies, and want to prioritize employing women/communities marginalized in wine production.
